It’s been so exciting (eggciting?) to see that The Brain is a Noodle is growing, both in readership and writers who are interested in submitting pieces!

I started this hobby as both editor and writer on Medium amidst the pandemic and honestly, it’s been so good to be able to connect virtually with all of you via poetry prompts!

As the year wraps up, I’m realizing that relative to past years, I’m definitely feeling more burnt out than past years, even though it’s only November. As someone who refers to self-care and discusses mental health so often, it’s time I actually put my words into action and take a break.

To do this, two changes will be made!

  • The Brain is a Noodle will only be publishing poetry pieces for the rest of this period.
  • Response times will be changed from 24 hours to 72 hours.

The average time will still be closer to 24 hours since I LOVE reading these fresh new pieces. This measure is to ask writers to not check-in via notes unless 72 hours have elapsed. Ironically, sometimes these check-ins slow down the review…
